CONTACT LAWS– CL (CL deals with random player/ball contacts).

Choquee is not a combat sport yet it involved a lot of random play activities. The number of contacts a player makes with the ball is limited in this 4 x 4 soccer. Some choquee laws that regulate playground activities, movements by players, and random player/ball contacts in the game are given as follows:

CL0   A service allows a player to serve the ball off from the center circle. 

The ball shall be serveed using two hands, as in regular soccer throw-in.

CL1 The line that defines the center circle shall be part of the circle.

CL2 The game begins with a service from the service court SC. (See law-SL). 

CL3 Legal contact with the ball shall means one-point-contact (OPC) a player shall make with the ball in attempt to control the ball, or one-point-control (OPC) of the ball per ball entry in the TC.

CL4 Legal play of the ball shall means OPC a player shall make with the ball in attempt to play or kick the ball per ball entry in the TC.

CL5 Players ten years and under, are limited to play choquee in PC2020, which does not require CL3 and CL4. 

CL6 If/when a player handles the ball it is illegal contact, with a PP.

CL7 Hand balls shall be a contact with the hand from elbow to the fingers. 

CL8 After service, OPC with any part of the body shall define legal play. 

CL9 A header shall be a legal contact.

CL10 OPC shall also apply to contacts made with the ball within the body sweep

areas. Sweep area (apply the sweep area to one legal contact).

CL11 The body sweep areas shall include:

1). Null sweep = ground level to ball height

2). First sweep = from height of ball to knee

3). Second sweep = from knee to waist

4). Third sweep = from waist to shoulders

5). Fourth sweep = from shoulder level and up.

KICKBALL LAWS–KB (KB deals with how the ball is kicked played in choqueesoccer games).

Ball kicks in choquee shall be OPC with the ball per ball entry into a TC. To avoid illegal kicks, the players must be ready and well decided on what to do with the ball before the ball enters the TC.

KB0. Legal kick shall be done with the feet, head, and other parts of the body.

KB1. A shall not violet the OPC rule

KB3 A player shall not kick other player at any time during choquee games. 

           BK3a. A kick shall be a legal contact

KB4     The center circle is a neutral play area.

KB5. Players may play in the center circle, (without contacts with

 other players).

KB6. During service, players shall not play in the center circle.

KB7 Teams shall not pack other teams or commune to save a play.

KB8   During plays, teams shall not cross side lines into other TC.

SERVICE LAWS– SS (SS deals with choquee soccer ball services).

SS Law Special Services

SS0 The game begins with a service. 

SS1 Choquee game starts with a ball service, done like a normal soccer throw-in; 

with both hands holding the ball, over the head, and feet on the ground, as the ball is served into the center circle, and into the receiving court.

SS2 The server shall call the ball by shouting

Ball!! or ChoKey!! That shall alert other players of the start of play.

SS3 A “no-call” service is a bad service.

SS3a. Two no call services shall be a double fault, for a PP.

SS4 The serving court shall not corrupt (make contact with)

  the center circle or serve from within the center circle.

SS5 Away-service shall be if and only when the service goes completely out of

the PC, without making contacts with the receiving court. 

SS5a. Away service shall become a bad service.

SS6 If/when a service goes into a non-receiving court such

  shall be a bad service.

SS7 The service shall not use a non-game ball. 

SS8 Two consecutive bad services shall be a double fault, for a PP.

SS9 During service, players shall be at least 3 feet away from the center circle.

SS9a. This service protocol shall not apply to TT Choquee.

SET & TEAM PLAY LAWS–ST (ST deals with team activities).

ST0 A choqueesocer team shall have a maximum of 7 players.

ST1 Any team member or set of players can be designated to represent a team in singles, doubles, and triples games.

ST2 Team representation shall be in the order of game protocols. For example:

ST2a. One team member shall participate in SINGLES protocol games.

ST2b. Two team members shall participate in DOUBLES protocol games.

ST2c. Three team members shall participate in TRIPLES protocol games.

ST3 The entire team can train in field or ground courts 2020 as 7v7 soccer team.

ST3a. A 7v7 team participation shall depend on type of team registration.

ST3b. Team Registration delegates a participant for a game such as in games (4040, 3030, or 2020 games). The delegated shall be and remain the legal player for that game.

ST3c. In elimination games, a team can use three different players, one player for each game.

ST3d. During a game, if/when a delegated player withdraws from a designated game, for any reason; it shall be deemed a legal withdrawal of the team from the competition. If the player withdraws before the game starts, the team shall have the benefit to replace the player. The new player shall become the legal team representative.

ST3e. Absolute representation shall be if/when a player or the same set of players is designated to represent a team throughout the elimination game. In absolute representation, if a player withdraws, the remaining team member/s shall continue (ALONE) till the competition ends.

ST4 Double Registration shall be a two-man team, and the withdrawal of any of the two players shall be a legal withdrawal of the team from the completion.

ST5 A Single Registration shall be a one-man team, and the withdrawal of the player shall be a legal withdrawal of the team from the completion.  

ST6 Any team that loses a game shall exit the competition. The remaining team/s

  shall advance and continue the next game.

ST7 A team or player wins a game based on PPM.

ST8 Two teams are tied if the difference of their scores is less than 3 PP.

ST9 A team must maintain 3 penal points advantage to avoid a tie game.

ST10 In court 4040, 4 sets shall equal a game (PC4040)

ST11 In court 3030, 3 sets shall equal a game (PC3030)

ST12 In court 2020, 2 sets shall equal a game (PC2020)

ST12 Banking shall be a tiebreaker set.

ST13 A set ends when a team gets 6 PP, or 4PP, is a Boxy set.

ST14 A penal point is a point scored against a team.

ST15 Boxy point equals four (4) PP.

ST17 A boxy set is a set where only one team gets the first 4PP. 

ST18 A goal is automatically a 3PP.

ST19 At the end of a game, the points are added up to determine the

PPM for each team/player.

ST20 The referee shall keep the scores, which he/she submits to the 

proper authority after the games.

ST21 Players shall be rated based on the last ten (10) tournaments played by the player, in the. If a player plays less than 10 tournaments in the 12 months, he/she shall not have a current rating.

ST22 Players’ ratings are done in the categories of game played; Men or Women, and Singles, Doubles or Triples.   

LINEBALL LAW-LB (LB regulate line activities in choquee games)

All rules apply to both lawn and tabletop games.

LB0 Lineball calls are based on whether the ball is ingressing or egressing a line (Goal lines or touchlines) of a choqueesoccer court. Pay close attention to this section, and ask questions for anything you do not understand. The ball has attitudes each time it approaches a line, and these attitudes fall into two categories; 

       1). BALL INGRESS A LINE = going in unto a line.         

           2). BALL EGRESS A LINE = going out from a line.

LB1 A line shall be part of the area/s it defines.

LB2 A lineball shall define Logical INgress or Egress of a line.

LB3 All external lines of a PC shall be identified as goallines.

LB4 All internal lines demarcating the TC shall be identified as touchlines.

LB5 The departure TC (DTC) shall be the TC that played the ball out of bound. 

LB6 The receive TC (RTC) shall be the TC where the ball is played into.

LB6a. All lines are 4 inches wide, and made from white or yellow color.

LB6b. All lines shall be and remain parts of the areas they define.

LB6c. Lines are neighborhoods of the court.

LB6d. All neighborhoods are legal court areas.

LB6e. The goal post and crossbars are neighborhoods of the courts.

LB6f. All neighborhoods are effective to 1/1000th of the ball’s diameter.

LB6g. Effective shall mean that the ball is in play.

LB7 The ball shall be out of bounds when/if it completely crosses a goal line egressing the PC, including when a goal is scored. 

LB8 If the ball ingress a TC on a touchline before it goes out of bounds, the RTC

shall be assessed a PP.

LB9 If the ball ingress a TC on a touchline with dynamic earth-bounce (DEB) before it goes out of bounds, the RTC with the DEB shall be assessed a PP.

LB10 If the ball ingress a TC on a goal line with DEB before it goes out of bounds, the DTC shall be assessed a PP.

LB11 If the ball ingress a TC from the center circle before it goes out of bounds, the RTC shall be assessed a PP.

LB12 If the ball ingress a TC from the center circle’s line, before it goes out of bounds, the RTC shall be assessed a PP.

LB13 If the ball ingresses a TC on a rebound from a goalpost or crossbar before it goes out of bounds, the RTC shall continue play without interruption. 

LB14 If/when a player ingress another TC during a play, the player shall be assessed a PP.

LB14a. If/when a player ingress other TC on a pull or push by another player, the player who pulled or pushed, shall be assessed a PP.

LB15 If/when foreign object ingresses a TC during play, any player can stop the play by calling the goat (A GOAT IN THE COURT!), to alert the referee and other players to stop play.

LB15a. If a GOAT is not called and a player stops play, the player shall be

assessed a PP.

LB15b. If a player or his teammate, or coach forces a foreign object into

the PC, the player or team shall be assessed 2HPP.

LB15c. A player or team can use their goat calling for accidental stoppage

of plays, only with the approval of the referee.

LB15d. The referee shall shout PLAY ON to override a goat call.

LB15e. Each player or team shall be allowed 2 goat calls per game.

LB16 There shall be 3 Lineball Challenge (LBC) privileges per team per game. 

LB17 If/when a player or team makes a LBC when the player or team has already exhausted the LBC privilege, that player or team shall be assessed a PP. 

LB17a. A player may ingress the center circle without contacts with other teams during play, but shall not engress the circle during service.

1). BALL INGRESS A LINE = going in unto a line.         

           2). BALL EGRESS A LINE = going out from a line.

LB20 If/when the ball egress a TC on the goal line, and goes out of bounds, the DTC shall be assessed a PP.

LB21 If/when the ball with DEB on a TC egress the PC, the TC with the DEB shall be assessed a PP.

LB22 If/when the ball egress the PC from the intersection of a goal and a touchline, the last Flight Court (FC) shall be assessed a PP.

LB23 If/when the ball egress the PC on a rebound from goal post or crossbar, the TC with the goal post or crossbar shall be assessed a PP.

LB24 If/when a player egress his TC on a pull or push by another player, the player who pulled or pushed, shall be assessed a PP.

LB25 If/when a player shall egress the PC on account of any disability, and could not resume play after five minutes, the player/court shall be notified to abandon the game. 

LB25a. If the disabled player could not still resume play after the next five minutes, he/she shall then be eliminated on account of withdrawal, and the opponent(s) shall advance and continue the competition.
